List of EMI Artists

In response to yesterday’s news that EMI would be making their entire catalog available DRM-free on iTunes, I was interested to find out what artists and bands would be coming available.

As you might expect, because EMI is based in London, the list is very Brit-centric.  Anyway, here are some of the notable names on the roster,

The Band
Beastie Boys
The Beatles (we still don’t know when or if their catalog will be made available)
Blur
David Bowie
Garth Brooks
Coldplay
Dandy Warhols
Dilated Peoples
Doves
Everclear
Genesis
David Gilmour
Gomez
Gorillaz
Geri Halliwell
Idlewild
Norah Jones
Kraftwerk
Paul McCartney & Wings
Kylie Minogue
Beth Orton
Pink Floyd
Queen
Radiohead
Richard Ashcroft
Rolling Stones
Sigur Ros
Supergrass
The Chemical Brothers
The Hollies
Tina Turner
The Vines
Robbie Williams

I can probably find a few things on this list worth buying, although I probably won’t upgrade to the high-quality DRM-free version of Robbie Williams’ “Millennium,” or anything by Geri Halliwell, anytime soon.

UPDATE: As Glenn from Coolfer alluded to in the comments section, there are quite a few more artists that will likely fall under this agreement via subsidiaries etc. If you’re interested, here’s a list of Capitol Records artists that should be a part of this agreement as well (with EMI being the parent company of Capitol), although I’m not one hundred percent sure on this yet.
